STEPDOG DEBUTS WITH FREE EP DOWNLOAD
Cape Town, February 2011
Stellenbosch-based rockers Stepdog will be giving their fans a feast with the free download of their debut offering entitled Amy After Dark. The 3-piece’d band’s 6-track EP features the top 5 hit Angie which is currently receiving extensive airplay on national radio stations.

The EP was produced and recorded by Jürgen von Wechmar at Sunset Recording Studios and mastered by Tim Lengefeld at TL Mastering and will be available on
www.stepdog.co.za in early February 2011. Stepdog’s first single Angie was given away with the October issue of Your LMG and rapidly climbed the charts reaching number 2 on 5fm’s SA Rock Chart. Their second single Lauren will be released in February to coincide with the launch of the EP.
"The digital route is where music is going and we decided to give away the album in gratitude to the fantastic response from our fans who downloaded Angie back in October," said Jonathan Velthuysen, the front man of Stepdog

Quote from the Designer:
'Inspired by the band dark lyrics and eerie vocal sound I came up with an appropriately sombre image. I think the graphic is quite self explanatory. It depicts a dog or wolf howling at moon, enraged. The dog is Stepdog and the addition of the moon alludes to their E.P title “Amy after dark”. I feel the hand drawn image and rough pencil work suites folky edge of the band. The separate layers are each separate hand drawn images and their layering should make for striking silk screens.” Hanno Van Zyl
A big thanks to Turbovite and Springleap.com and all the designers who contributed for making the competition possible.
